Dix Hills, Long Island, New York Dix Hills is a hamlet located within the Town of Huntington in Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. When folks describe the hamlet of Dix Hills, the same three topics come into play: proximity to highways, two desirable school districts (Half Hollow Hills, Commack), and spacious residential properties. Named in part for its rolling terrain, Dix Hills was largely developed by various builders in the 1960s and 1970s. Dix Hills is also great for commuting, with easy access to the Northern State Parkway, Long Island Expressway, and Vanderbilt Motor Parkway.
